Dreams within your Mind

The clouds are growing darker. The sun has lost its heat
The ground is now much colder. I feel beneath my feet
I struggle with my breathing . Understanding is not there
A greyness purveys me. But I don’t really care
Eyes see very little. I look but I don’t find
My dreams are smashed to pieces. Vanished in my mind

There was no early warning. To cushion such a blow
Broken heart on the horizon. How was I to know
Life is now in shatters.I am the walking dead
Devil’s little helpers. Running riot in my head
Demons never seen before. Every where I find
      Picking at the pieces
Of the thoughts within my mind

We were in our special heaven. In a living dream
Sun shone every morning. Picnics by a stream
Envied by other lovers. A kind of angels bliss
Wrapped in a magic gift box. Sealed with a loving kiss
A drawbridge indestructible . Of the strongest kind.
But now smashed to pieces
By the doubts within my mind.

This is life’s hardest lesson. We must learn so early on.
What we know we value most. Can so easily be gone.
The one we love with all our heart. Can so easily be lost.
So don’t waste a single second. Or you’ll pay a dreadful cost.
With unbounded joy search your soul. And you will quickly find.
It’s everlasting love, which oils the wheels
Of the dreams within your mind
