birthday wish

Free verse
A single glittery candle
Placed careful

In the center of a sweet thing.

Protected from the wind’s blow
Hand cupped around the glow

We sing, like doves in spring.

Close your eyes and blow it out,
And action met with a yell and a shout

To the secret of your wish you must cling.
