The Right Girl

I learned as a child to pray each day
And leave it at the alter
So this thing I asked of Him
I knew He would not falter

If it be His will for me
To somewhere in this world
I only have one small request
To help me meet the right girl

I signed with Uncle Sam one day
To serve our country four years
He sent me overseas somewhere
And I wondered Lord why here?

Then one day I saw her
And could not look away
She caught my eyes as to hypnotize
Could this be her? I thought "No way"

To make a long story short
She finally spoke to me
She left her home in Portugal
By choosing to be with me

I love her with all my heart
About me she feels the same
We've shared many fond memories
While enjoying life's big game

We’ve been through many ups and downs
Life’s taken us for a whirl
She’s given me everything and more
I wouldn’t trade her for the world

I learned many things about her
If I could list one thing
She cooks and cleans and loves our kids
But the woman can not sing (Lol)

As the poem explains, I prayed to God to help me find the person I could spend my life with forever. I traveled a long way and met her. The rest is history. Thank you Jesus!
