A Poem Before Take-Off

I don't wish to go
But I have no choice
Took one wrong turn
Now paying the price

The dichotomy in my existence
Was neither pleasant nor nice
Half of me burning in fire
The other half frozen in ice

Leaving behind the facade
Of my body, I will step
Into the womb of darkness
Not knowing the depth

In the darkness there is
neither virtue nor vice
Neither valleys nor heights
No taste, touch, smell, sound, or sights

No words and hence no meaning
No pursuit of identity overwhelming
River of sorrow will disappear in darkness
There will rest in peace the elusive bird of happiness

About this poem

I wrote this poem at a time when everything seem lost, the pain of living became unbearable and the only way out seemed like dying.
