I Watch the Moon

I watch the moon
With wet eyes of gloom,
Waiting for a day yet to come
Staring down an unloaded gun

My heart beats slow,
As I watch rivers begin to flow
Memories race anew
And heavy emotions rush too

So much yet to know
Like where next to go,
Only now many things show
Once hidden deep under snow

Reluctantly I think
About who I was and who I am,
I wonder which one is true
As I look up at the Sky’s different hues

The moon looks down
And I look up with uncertain glee,
As the moment sets me free momentarily
Reality ceases to dawn, and instead blooms
