Midnight Sun

She’s so far away and I can’t make her come
Laughing in the shade and prancing in the sun
Out in the midnight sun

The smile in her eyes says she won’t stay long
I never have the time, I catch her then she’s gone
Out in the midnight sun

She’s sitting all alone
Out in the midnight sun
She sits upon a throne

I long for her
I call for her
I run to her
I love her

I call to her in the darkest night
I wait alone ‘til the morning light
I wish upon every star
I know she cannot be far

From my grip and my lips
I must take that lonely trip
To find this mistress
I search in distress

I’m lifeless
Without her
I cannot
Exist

She starts to fall asleep as I gently rub
I fondle all her dreams but I can’t make her come
Out in the midnight sun

She screams and screams
She screams and screams and screams

About this poem

These are lyrics meant to be sung. The song changes rhythm and key several times then returns to the original with an startlingly abrupt ending.
