Whisper
Carletta Feasel 1974 (Sanford n.c.)
Whisper
In the still of the night, you whisper my name. You ask me to trust in your plans and not the eyes of man. You instruct me to move forward in the steps of your plan and reach me at a level I can understand. You call me by name and love me just the same and yet I hesitate to walk by the shadow of your hands and pursue what you have planned. My trust is in you, my heart filled and renewed, you show me the way and nothing isn't so new. New to my eyes and my hands alike, you whisper my name in the still of the night. I sit at the foot of the cross and gaze at the feet of Jesus. He guides my steps and makes a way so that depression can be defeated. I walk in the light and rest in your boosum so that the comfort you provide will sustain me through the night and day alike. You whisper my name, in the still of the night and show me your plans through the word of the Lamb. You guide my steps, you build my faith, and you whisper my name to sustain what you have planned. Correction and conviction never is easy but you promise me growth as I learn and am uneasy. The tears just flow when I'm sinking in the sand but then you grab the palm of my hand and reveal just another small piece of your plan. I intensely want to know you more because without you I'm just another lost soul in this land. You behold the plans, you guide me by my hand, you walk with me through the sand and take me to a solid place to stand. I quiet my lips and open my ears because I'm excited to see what's going to unfold as whisper my name and open my ears to another new day to speak your name You are the light that shines within and behold a piece of me that can not withstand without the cross and your nail pierced hands. You breathe life into me and create a plan to whisper in my ear and make music to stand upon as I gaze at your feet in the promise land. You hold me tight and don't let go and silently show me what I'm being told. Not from the lips of men but the Holy Ghost within. You promise to guide me with your hands in the shadow of your land and whisper again and let me know that you are pleased with what is taking place within my heart as I follow your plan. I may be uneasy and think thoughts of failure from the past yet the timing of your plans is perfect in every way and I for one am not questioning your agenda because it comes from the cross and not from man. I may not understand, but trust and believe that my best interest is within and built not from sand but solid rocks and boulders that you strategically placed with your very hands. You whisper my name in the still of the night and once again tell me to trust and not deny the truths that are within. A good night's sleep and a new day to begin, just keep on showing me a piece of your plan.
