Sam in the Salish Sea

Otisus 1984 (Seattle)

Sam in the Salish Sea
Reads the currents’ flow at ease
Cradled by inlets from gentle earthen crease
Learns by pace keeping with peers this
School incorporates constant movement &
Alertness make discipline imprinted

Sam in the Salish Sea
Moves efficiently with swishes
Dreaming down streams and sun spotting glimpses
Humble, reflecting back the light it reaches
Trademarks its pink like a coral to reef
Adornment of scales mimicked
By mermaids like flattery

Sam in the Salish Sea
Self Defense in quickness &
Balance of trim and thickness
Makes survival of the fittest as true as liquid
Cuts though aqua like
Samurai knives with the
Instinct to endure the
Least pleasurable pursuit
For the sake of the spherical
Life & death connected to

Sam in the Salish Sea  Works and travels in a team The entire genus is Tyee-King!
Since millennia past its presence is
Water extended
Progresses through a gauntlet
Water rocks the test with
Bears pawing at the very leap of your
Vulnerable but necessary exposure
In order to get to the goal of
Fresh water and eggs nestled in sand familiar

Sam in the Salish Sea
Keystones as it touches
Harmonious with its environment
Course sticks to, traditional
Honoring the pilgrimage consistently
Versatility is exhibited from
Salt to fresh no matter its saliency
