I walked across the mountain green

I walked across the mountain green
Echoed the sounds of my feet
A yellow fruit could be seen
I edged closer, still in awe
only to realize it was still raw.

I walked across the mountain green
The fruit dangling from the branch
to attain it I was keen
I tried to climb the tree, for I was pretty small
only to result in a terrible fall.

I walked across the mountain green
The teasing fruit made me rage
I assumed it was very mean.
I abandoned it at will,
only to climb back up that hill.
