That Paddle Board

That paddle board
Is heavy
Filled with
Creamy-colored rocks
From the bottom of the ocean.
That paddle board is busy,
As girls carry loads of pale golden, caramel sand.
The hands waving
The smiles as wide as the man-made lagoon
My daughters are elated!
The waves of the ocean
Bring forth joy to their innocent souls.
I watched the palm trees sway with the wind
While Lauren Daigle’s,  “Thank God I Do”
Plays in my joyous fervor.
My spirit is lifted,
As I watched the magnificent sunset
And the flowy breeze encapsulates my senses.
Next song, “Love Me Like I Am”,
For King & Country,
Just untangled my instability,
Forming hope and freedom
From the months of agony.

About this poem

We are currently at Koolina Beach. I focused on what my girls were doing and tried putting it into words.
