Pegasus

On a steed with wings that bark he struck out through the night
He pushed his ride so hard he landed by dawn light
By the balls atop the gate in a hedge he waited there
He knew she was approaching when past the terrier with wire hair,
She was sending him a message chatting to her phone
How could she know the one she seeks was so close to her  home,
She passed so close the voyeur he could have reached and  touched her hair.
Then she’d gone like morning mist she was no longer there,
His mind replayed the moment just as she passed by
‘Twas worth the flight and the return for now she’s graced his eye.
