The pen

Fall to ground the pen goes
rolling away as the wind blows
Storms come and they go
lost of thoughts, lose your gifts
scribbled and dabbled we had good days
some were bad as stories in the head
just me and the pen
It knows when to say goodbye
I loved it in my mind
we never put our skills to use
Look at the time, flying by
Spend years chasing a pen, Life will never bring you smiles
One day, ill tell it to my grandkids
weatherman said winter storm coming
So the wind blew again
I look down as i walk on the empty street
Clearing my mind and working on the way i breathe
A pen, similar to my old friend
Dreams never leave, they show up where they need to be
