Silent Footfalls

A single Seagull
Flying across the sky
Curt words
Between you and I.

Along jogger
Breaths in the
Salty sea air
As the boards
Boardwalk creak
Under jog weight
My silent footprints
In the sand.

Two lovers sit
A couple Huddles tight
Liplocked on a bench
As a homeless man
Finds shelter Under the
boardwalk steps.
I hear the lapping
Of the winter waves
Careless rhetoric
Wish the waves
Could wash away

The imprints
Of silent
Footprints
On my heart

About this poem

The poem is about a couple who have just had a fight. Biting words said I walk may clear the air!

Now this is the real deal Doctor.
Images we have all wandered through in pleasant times, at ease. BUT those winter waves? Suggesting shortness of time. Beauties hidden. Warmth withdrawn…Wayne Blair.
