SMOKES And MIRRORS
Ronald Tanyaradzwa Mutandi 2001 (Murombedzi)
Smokes And MIRRORS
I never knew how much I deluded myself, Living in this dream felt surreal,
It was normal to shelf myself Into broken shards of comparted memories.
Your lies held baby wisps of smoke,
So easy that in its steps,
It stealthily unfurled around me,
Luring me with your lullabies,
And chaining me to it.
I do wish that this gift from you to me,
Holds a strong memory between us but,
Yet enough to Rip apart what we had, So,smokes and mirrors ,
VSmokes and mirrors ,
These are the last words to my last breath.
