Joker

Everyone has a role for me to play, but how can I please all at once.

I wish there was six of me, to do all my duties for me. All my requests done by the time I open my eyes from slumber. I wish I could meet everyones expectations. Although I try, I can never satisfy.

Let the people mold me like clay into their perfect me. Let the illusion not stray, and make people dismay that my expression is not as cheerful as it was once before. For I am beyond my years.

Where has my innocence an naivety run of to?

I miss the years considering the false hope to be truthful. So upon the stars I plead make me the joker that everyone expects from me. Let me be the one that brings a grin on others faces in spite of the fact that it would never be my own.

I'm a lucky draw from a deck of cards. I will be anyone that you need me to be. I am your joker, a shape shifter, always at your command. I am a people pleaser and always inclined to feel deeper.

All because you have crawled your way into my heart and I would do anything in my power even though it means I would bleed...

And somehow I still feel disreputable and inferior.

About this poem

This poem is about how I always feel inclined to put 100% into a relationship and not recieving the same amount back. A never ending cycle that will inevitably lead to a broken heart.
