Is this Love

Is this love, is this love, is this love
That I’m feelin?

Oh silent baby with heavenly wings freely flying oh silent dove
You were already loved a million

Oh silent baby with heavenly wings you could never break our hearts
We love you, all of you, all parts

Standing in that room, drowning in the wantonness of our God
Oh silent baby, you’re a blessing sent from God

Oh silent baby, your mom holding you so tight
With fading dreams that were once tender and whole
Oh silent baby, she won’t forget your soul

Oh silent baby, I see your dad holding strong
Becoming a man before our eyes, he’ll wander forever
Oh silent baby, you’ll always be his treasure

I wanted to smile as you were truly breathtaking
I wanted to shred rivers of tears that flow down the riverbed
I wanted to sing is this love, is this love, is this love, that I’m feelin?

But, oh silent baby
As misery is my neighbor, I weep

Is this hurt, is this hurt, is this hurt
That I’m feelin?

About this poem

January 26th, 2023, my brother and his wife suffered a terrible blow. They were met with a stillborn baby named Zyler and he was beautiful. It kills me seeing their pain. The entire day, I had "Is This Love" by Bob Marley stuck in my head. When I got home that night, I wrote this poem. Please keep them in your thoughts, thank you. - Nicholas
