Demons

The wind blows as the sun rises. A daddy laughs as a baby cries. The sun sets behind the moon. As a momma breaks out a spoon. The demons scream as they are released from hell. And into our lives they come to dwell. She sells her soul for the high of the day. As she invites the darkness in to stay. He reaches through the darkness and picks her up. Before he ever said, Girl what's up ? He carries her forth into the light. As the demons slide out of sight. On his knees he begs and prays. But she has to go because she can't stay.

About this poem

I am not really sure where I was at in my head when I wrote this but I am sure it sums up my feelings at the time.
