Baptize me

Camie Middlestadt 1984 (Montgomery)

Even though you've walked a weary road;
Cast your burdens on Jesus, He will lighten your load.
If you ever begin to doubt and don't know what to do,
Give everything you have to Him; He will never give up on you!

Father, I know that I am a sinner, wash my sins away,
Cleanse me with your blood, create in me, a clean heart today.
My sins are washed away, my life is fresh and new.
I put my life in your hands, You and only you.

I will spend every day in Prayer and meditation,
When I am down or hurting, you Lord, are my medication.
May I read your Holy Word and understand it more,
So that I get closer to you, more than ever before.

Father, I need to be more like you, grateful to be alive,
For you put life in my body and made my heart to thrive.
As I wake up every morning, I will praise your name;
Without you in my life, it wouldn't be the same.

About this poem

I wrote this poem when I was in treatment to get clean. I was baptized the day I wrote this God completely delivered me. I am so grateful today for who I have become.
