Lois and Clark

Shall I draw you a picture of my heart?
Mark everything I love about you with percentages illustrated like a pie chart
May I write you a ballad, or maybe sing you a sonnet
It better if I crush the moon; mold it into a diamond between my arms
Or shall I make you a necklace with pearls attached to twinkle twinkle little starts
Can I serve you breakfast in bed, with eggs sunny side up, and hold you through the dark
Shall I rest my weary head across your lap,
Then bury my face in your cleavage to drown out the thunder but yet to feel the lighting sparks
Am I arrogant enough to consider this a hell of a good start?
Will you be my Lois and if you want me to I can be your Clark
You don t have to choose now or decide fast,
But do you fancy giving me a chance
I don’t want to be your first or the one who came after broke your heart
I just want to be the lucky son of a bitch with whom you get to have the last dance

Hi my fellow poets returning to the way of the poet after a considerable amount of time lost in oblivion as I hibernated clothed in manic depression and from a state of being comfortably numb, a bit rusty so really appreciate all your comments feedback and critics of my poem!
