Night Owl

In the cover of the night.
 Where shadows run and hide.

  Seeking shelter you find within
the trees. Your tower of solitude.

  Perched and vigilant you watch.
  Ever so calmly.
  Eyes wide open.

  A devilish grin, mischievous and
 mysterious.
  A gargoyle, motionless.

Master of the dark. Blending ever
so delicate. Seeking refuge in the
 bark of the trees.

Tender heart and noble to thy
 night.
A friend and ali. Wings that
 expand. Giving comfort and
 security of a mother's grace.

 Wisdom flows through every feather.
Gripping towards life with your mighty
 talons. So, majestic.

Evading evil spirits. Not letting a
sudden rush of cold air lose your
 sights.

Till the sun rises; is when you rest.
 Sleeping away the nightmares you
 collected.

To once again await for the veil of
 darkness to set you free.
 Let the moon light awake
 you up from your slumber.

Listening for her to call out your
name. To watch over while we sleep.
Seeing her reflect from your eyes. To be
 A guardian. A dark knight.....Better yet;
 A Night Owl....to watch over.

About this poem

I wrote this poem because I find myself fascinated by the nights. Things that happen that we don't see. Makes it away for poets dream.
