The Demon In Me

Saudia Danih 1993 (Zamboanga Sibugay)

I am afraid of myself  again.
The darkness seems to come to me,
And say the words that
I do not want to hear.

Something is eating me up.
In my head, it resides for days
Things I wish I could tell,
Things that keep me awake at night.

I hate the night for its silence,
Yet, I despise the day for its sounds.
I love the companies of people
Yet I do not like the crowd.

I admire the beauty of life
But I detest its existence
I wish upon death,
Yet, I couldn't bear its grief.

I am afraid of myself again.
And it gets darker inside,
And it's colder once again...
I need the warmth of light.
