If walls could talk

If walls could talk

I stand amidst the ruins of wars,
A crumbling wall before me, old and worn.
I look up with a mix of wonder and fear,
As if the wall could speak and hear.

If walls could talk, what would it say?
Of battles fought and lives lost on that day.
Of hope and love, and broken dreams,
Of echoes from the past, or so it seems.

I imagine the memories it has kept,
Of pain and sorrow, I too have wept.
The wall tells stories of a time long past,
Of a world so different from my own at last.

As I gaze upon its weathered face,
I see in its cracks my own reflection's trace.
A symbol of resilience and determination,
That echoes through time without hesitation.

The wall may fall, but its story remains,
Etched in the hearts of those who sustain.
For if walls could talk, they would remind,
That in every tragedy, hope can be found

About this poem

This is a poem about how war shatters sweet memories everything that holds memories. It's about how the walls get to witness man's atrocities and cannot convey them.
