Beloved

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Sometimes what looks like light is really as dark as hell.
And when I must behold these things it makes me want to yell.

An ordinary milkman with a family and nice house,
From every outward appearance he was as quiet as a mouse.

But in his heart was malice, raging anger uncontrolled.
When he decided to unleash it, bitter anguish did unfold.

He looked like an angel but in his heart, he was a beast.
He committed all his evil acts at the beginning of the feast.

There’s a fourth dimension we cannot see, it’s spiritual, Amen.
And as each one was executed God was standing there with them.

As each one fell before His feet He picked them up again.
Now they’re jewels in Jesus’ crown they are His precious gems!

So, if you have no mercy and you want to use your gun,
Just remember this my friend, Isaiah fifty-seven one.
