Ash Colored Glasses

Obliterated by the explosion
Unreserved in my contempt
Lest I hold it in
And blow up within

Gray foggy atmosphere consumes all I hold dear
But like a warrior dying with honor,
I shall not fear

Blue rays and a purple haze
Radioactive and dangerous to touch
Given all that has become me
My mutant legacy will have to burn

Burn into a forgettable pile of ashes,
Otherwise I'd be viewed
Through unflattering glasses
And I wouldn’t blame you if you ran

How could any put-together man
Understand someone like myself,
When  not even I can?
