New Year Fear

2023 a new year for thee
a chance for a new beginning
another opportunity for selfish sinning
perhaps this year will be more of the same
a spillover of 2022's sick little game
of the powers that be prodding and poking
it will be different !
course you know I'm joking
it will be far more worse than years past
even more pricey than the last
but please be patient and stand fast
while we increase the cost of your daily repast
we don't know why your so upset
were getting you help trying to get you set
to make sure all your needs are met
all you need is us
just relax and don't make a fuss
take the poke its not a joke
were here to help were your kinda folk
so what if your broke at least your woke
if not blinded by the digital smoke
we blow in your face you mediocre race
we keep you in your place and outta of the loop
were not kidding do as your told
we grow tired of your resistance if we may be so bold
were looking to lock you all down
so keep your mouth shut and don't make a sound
just accept your fate that you lost
were in charge and you bear the cost
of our insane rules you obedient fools
your simply slave labor and low cost tools
the instruments of our design
though we may seem kind we really put you through the grind
and control you and yours through your weak mind
it is the reality of slavery's bind
Welcome to 2023
and the continuing illusion your free
Simply said humanity is through
Gotcha human
Peekaboo!
