Taking to the moon
I had a conversation with the moon about you
I told her all about you
All about your smile
she even got jealous when I told her all about your shine
I told her how I just can't figure you out
And how I feel like it's because my paps wasn't always around
I told her all about how much I really be fluffing with you
But my communication skills are hindered by my daddy issues
Grab a tissue, wipe my tears and parade through the day like I got no fears
I scream and pull my hair out in my dreams
I internally die but gotta get up, revive, and show up for my team
But I'm skeptical if they'd ever do the same for me
This a different type of symphony
This the type of thing you can't sing for me
This the type of thing that'd make you go ahead and sin for me
But please don't do it
It's not worth it
I'm not perfect
My ship's sailing, but it's not steady
I'm not ready to admit that I miss you
I told her unlike the sun, she's very gentle
Plus she's always believed I'm set out to be what I'm meant to
My lack of mental stability is compensated by my superb writing ability
I look in the mirror every morning but never glimpse the potential you see in me
Staring at you is a whole different scenery
And if I could paint a potrait, it would sound like this
You can't spend time with me, baby girl that is for free
You've been tweaking and I've been buzzing since before the birds and the bees
Never complain about the circumstances
Remember all of your actions got consequences
Holding me down like ships and anchors
Calling my name like it's an anthem
Although I haven't called your phone since the last term
My day's as grey as the ashes from the trees that I burn
And I can't help but blame myself when straight things take a turn
Like I'm the reason my therapist goes to therapy
Like I'm the reason I can't be a better me
Like I'm the reason you ain't never heard of me
Like I'm the reason all my false competition is ahead of me
Like I'm the reason I'm running out of reasons to believe in angels and demons
