unbreakable

Unbreakable
I tell myself that I am unbreakable
That I am strong like the stone wall before me
Take a hammer to it and it still stands tall
I try to be that stone wall
When I really am like glass
Easily breakable
Or as some would say fragile
I am not breakable or that’s what I tell myself
I try over and over to be okay
To stay strong
But for what
Looks from people
Acts of nothingness
Why can’t I allow myself to be broken
To be fragile
At least then I’d come with a warning label
Maybe then I wouldn’t be broken so much
Maybe then I won’t be shattered
Maybe just maybe I’d be whole
But who am I kidding
It’s a never-ending loop of bitterness
Unable to be who you are
Unable to be vulnerable
Why can’t being strong come with a warning label
Just because it is supposed to be unbreakable
That doesn’t mean that it won’t crack
