The One

Khushi Yadav 2000 (Jharkhand)

Do i need to search for you?
Are you the one?
would it be the same
if i tried to snatch it
into something that it never was
i can feel the butterflies
thinking of you
or a stroke of trauma
reignited as dove
will wait for it to ripe
into the desperation
and for my souls yearning
 to finally let go
let go ! of the illusion of what love should feel like
and the search for it on outside
to make me feel liberated within
i want the inside me free
to feel the love i am
dont want to make you the key to open the door to it anymore
Yes ,i was lost
I searching for myself
On the outside
searching for a key
that i never lost
I am breaking all the vows
of finding the one
to hand over
my existence caged in a key
In hands that feel safe
to entangle myself in a bondage
that feels like home
but gone long before
I can call it one
don't want to try it
one more time
don't want to give it
the benefit of doubt
to doubt my existence
I just want my love to flow
and break all embankments
within my heart
that refuse to feel
the Love I Am
refuse to recognise
Who I Am!
The One I was searching for....

About this poem

This poem is about evolution of a lover who searched for their wholeness on the outside of them in potential partners to them finally realising that they were their own eternal lover first ,and they realise that they were 'the one ' they were searching for. It's about laying foundations of all love on self-love.
