New Year

Everything's gonna be new,
Even you.
Now I close this chapter,
With new year's laughter.

Heard you sing,
And my heart went spring.
Green was my vision,
Never knew it was an illusion.

Deep bright eyes,
As cold as ice.
I wish I had a chance
To talk and not just glance.

Every time I tried,
I got tongue-tied.
The sweet dark prince,
Made my heart wince.

A Cherub came,
And played the game so lame.
Now u too Brutus?
My sweet white lotus?

You love bloo…
And my heart bleeds blue.
Thought you would be the one.
Alas! Now I'm really done!

I assume it's time,
To end this crime,
And close this chapter,
With new year's laughter.

Became my life's Goldmember,
Guess you'll never remember.
2022; 31st of December
A day I'll forever remember.

I'll close this chapter,
With new year's laughter.

About this poem

A new year's resolution when you feel like a fool and deciding to move on from the unrequited love. Jealousy and betrayal...even from your own best friend.
