Natural High

Like the sunrise on water, the fresh flowers blooming—
She craved for the sunset, so dark and volatile.
She had a hunger for nature, all so Beautiful, yet Scarce—
Instead she requires a High, abnormal and outlandish. Where there are no delicate sunrises nor flowers.

She just wants to end the dismal cycle, seeking a Natural High—
One where she wakes up, unconfined to release her very being.

She is so casual and Beautiful, like the sunrise on water—
She knows her worth and must stop mulling around.

She is me.

About this poem

I’m currently struggling with addiction, so that’s what inspired the poem. I hope you enjoy! Thank you
