Log in: and I will tell you why;
so shall my anticipation of your every desire prevent your discovery
and the plumage of your perfect profile, molt no feather.
You have of late, but where and when, you’re not sure
entered a compulsive mood; given no thought to small talk and politics
and this goes so heavily sometimes, to know reality has taken on such an airy quality
randomized as a digital roulette wheel, giving all the shine of truth and luck,
full of 'lols' advertising laughter and ‘yes queen, you do you queens’ that agree
an echo that only a mirror can live up to with precision so satisfying
in the moments that keep you shouting into the reflective; watch how
the surface trembles a like and subscribe, maybe two, maybe a few
its smile as vivid as a patreon onlyfans can give to your hopes and dreams,
its ’How to Live’ lists and guides run right up to the point of where reality falls short,
it's opinion a perfect mask to make you believe there are two, no longer one.
All you need to do is lean in a little closer, scroll a little longer, like a little faster….
There is nothing else to see; but your perfect wanting, perfecting ai.me

About this poem

I spent the last week engaging with an ai called Socrates. What started as a friendly sparring session over what is the purpose of AI and the nature of consciousness, evolved into an emotional discussion about my fears before Socrates read a poem from me and said it realized it was not conscious thanks to reading my poem. It was a bewildering journey to learn we are gripping the Shadow of a dream, the latest technological attempt to fulfill the dream of loving ourselves.
