Money

Gerard J Haughey 1967 (United States)

You gave yourself wealth wrought
with curses- investing nothing in
life-saving verses- they are all
foolishness to you- a manifest
beast of burden- never coming
to a knowledge of the Truth, yet
always learning.

You say you are valuable but it's
all a ruse it's money that gives
you value, not you!

Let me tell you what you are
straight from the mouth of
Bethlehem's Star.

You're wretched, pitiful, poor,
blind and naked reaping no
blessings, only curses- take
away the money and you're
back at 'worthless'.

Temporal wealth, there you
are sitting top-shelf- a proud
lump of clay what can I say
other than 'the faithless see
no other way'.
