Free verse
The wrong instinct
The wrong feeling
Wanting far too much
To be profound
When it's all really nuts and bolts

I have a box of these, but nothing fits

I'm waiting for the day
When I come upon the right pieces
To complete my collection

Oh boy, then I will truly be ready to fix stuff

About this poem

Life is a lot like my box of screws. I throw things in and take things out, hoping someday I will have the part to fix something.
