Lost in Reverie

Mia WIllson 2008 (California)

How I love to find that
I'm lost in reverie
For reverie is winsome
Reverie is enchanting
With wavy locks of galaxy
The universe on its head
And eyes made of lustrous green amber
Freed from the chains of melancholy
Freckles lightly dust its cheeks
Quite delicate and nonpareil
On skin pristine as water
As it falls from the heavens
When I sink down further
Into Reverie's trance
I find Reverie is kind
Reverie is endearing
Its voice remains euphonious
As it whispers benignant truths
From a heart that is benevolent
And heals all that its presence may grace
Even as I silently slip
Back into reality's grasp
I still can see reverie
Holding tight my tautened hands
For reverie is real
My reverie is you

About this poem

This poem is about someone very special to me, someone I could daydream about for hours on end. I find them beautiful and unmatched, inside and out, just like the state of reverie.
