I am love

Darkness descends to dawn of doom there comes a knock ! Much like a roaring bell , curtained eyes opening to the devil ringing death's knell !
He asks a question quite peculiar ! in a voice graver than pits of hell
“What’s love to you ?” and so I tell…
Nothing. Just a four lettered word often confused with like , care and lust.
*His eyes narrow , mustn’t have appreciated the neglect , and so I humor him*
Maybe a fleeting feeling cliché and overrated causing chaos around naively appreciated.
*His thirst seems not quenched , he snarls and for a second, shiver ripples down my spine and so I sit for this will take long*
Love for me is gazing into my mother’s eyes the moment I was born,
Love for me is the first touch of my father enveloping my smaller digits in his larger ones ,
Love for me is the smile of my brother proud of all that I achieve and still to conquer ,
Love for me is the care of my friends standing like a shadow and a reflection both at a time,
Love for me is the ring around my finger reciting of our times together,
Love for me is the staring into the eyes of my baby and the memory of all his firsts ,
Love for me is the crowd I earned around my deathbed bidding me adieu ,
But most profoundly … Love for me is staring at myself in the mirror and smiling at my reflection at 25 when I could have arrived here at 15.
Love for me is knowing my darkest secrets and embracing them into my being.
Love for me is forgiving myself for all the mistakes I did , abuses I hurled, struggles I was put through.
Love for me is knowing that I was always there for myself , with myself from the introduction to the conclusion of my book of life.
And so I look the devil in his eyes and tell him true
*LOVE FOR ME IS ME* and therefore be it known *I AM LOVE*
