Don’t

I blinked
I blinked and my whole world changed
Suddenly your bed wasn’t next to mine
your hands were a bit bigger than last time
The toys you once loved were left to be forgotten
And what was once babbles were now almost talking
I blinked
I blinked and you grew 2 feet
Now you’re saying your abc’s And counting your 123’s
You’re learning please and thank you
And everyday showing something new
I blinked
I blinked and
You’re off to school
I wipe my tears and try to be cool
Youre learning new things and making new friends
A new chapter while the first one ends
I blinked
All I did was blink
Next time I blink
You’ll be walking across the stage
In a cap a gown turning the books page
A bittersweet end & a new beginning
I blinked
I swear, All I did was blink
But the world moves faster than you think.
