I convinced myself I was the problem
I told myself that I wasn’t enough
I tried to become a better version of myself but the truth is that all along I was good enough already
I was already the best I could be but you?

You were the one that convinced me I was the problem,not me
You were the one that made me feel as if I wasn’t enough,not me
If i wasn’t enough for you
Why did you stay
If I wasn’t enough for you why didn’t you find somebody else
You didn’t want to leave because you liked to feel like the better one
You wanted to be the stronger one
Being the better one made you feel superior because you knew that I was insecure and unhappy within myself
You knew that because you were the source of my insecurities
Your boost in confidence was from the decrease that you caused of mine
You were the reason for my insecurities
You broke me down
Told me no one else would want me
Told me that I was lucky that you still wanted me but the truth is that I wasn’t lucky
I was unfortunate
I was broken
I was abused
I had been lowered to the worst version of myself Because of you
Because of you, I had no confidence
Because of you, I felt like no one wanted me
Because of you, I became a mess
Because of you, I was controlled
You were the problem
You didn’t want to leave because you wanted to break me down
I left
I had no choice but to build myself back up
I got my family back
I got my friends back
I got my confidence back
I got my life back
I had to become the better version of myself that I was before you
I needed to show you that you didn’t win
Now you have no control
Now you have no power
Now you can not abuse
I was at the lowest point in life but now I’m at the highest
I get to live my life and feel free
I get to have control over myself
Because of me, I’m living my best life now that I’m not with you
