Bad Men

I have been to some dark places
Where most men don’t dwell in their lives
I have been there, and I have seen the faces
Of men who will leave you for the dead
Don’t trust these people, they are rotten
And they rot all they touch and will rot you too
In those dark places on cold nights of autumn
When you are alone, you still have you
For the company of oneself is better
Than the company of these bad men
They will smile while with you, yet their
Hides change like that when
Times are tough or times are good
They shall be happy to see you fall and sad
Beware such men, your sorrow is their food
And to see you fail shall make them glad

About this poem

The poem is about the evil people one comes across in their lives that pretend to be your beneficiaries but have ill intent towards you. The poem is a warning to stay away from these ilk of men as they rot the soul of oneself. They are traitors, ill-wishers and traps that one encounters in life.
