A Tribute to Mom

I was raised with love
I was raised with care
From birth to present day
You have always been there

Without lack, I grew as a child
With fervor, I ran wild
But your patience you kept
Your love always smiled

Faith was on display
You taught me how to pray
People will come and they will go
But with Jesus we always stay

Compassion was a must
From you I learned how to trust
Treat people with respect
To be honorable and just

Later in life, I would stray
Despite your wisdom, I disobeyed
I left the righteous
But for me you stayed

It took a while, but for me you’d wait
I found myself, and it wasn’t too late
I gave up that life, which was really that death
Thank you Jesus Christ, that I still draw breath

And I thank you Mom
Your love is so strong
You always believed in me
I was blind but now I see

So this is what I have to say
Before the sun sets on this day
Thank you God, you gave me a mother
That proves your love, like no other
