A Poem About Summer

There once was a time that I celebrated your arrival. The anticipation of your presence made my small knees quake.
Now I stand in front of the bathroom mirror, a middle aged woman desperately trying to apply makeup as rivers of sweat pour down the sides of my face and back, coming to rest in a glorious swamp in the back of my Bat Man underpants.
