A New Hello

To the years I have lost to trauma and abuse,
To the guilt of failure and the mental battles I lose,
To the cruelty of lovers in whom I thought my heart lied,
I bid you goodbye

To the secrets I thought would shame me,
To the silence I gave to those that blamed me,
To the pain I thought I needed to hide,
I bid you goodbye

To the need to please those around me,
To the darkness that I let surround me,
To the voice that I had let slowly die,
I bid you goodbye

2023 is my year to shine,
To claim the dreams that have always been mine
To break the chains and set my soul free
2023 is a hello to the new New me

About this poem

It is about an inner change I feel. I finally feel free. I Overcame many difficulties in my life and struggled to finish my MD degree while fighting my inner deamons of anxiety and PTSD. I have finally finished my degree and started a dance buisness and free of any toxicity in my life.

“150 out of 150 Poems Read” it says at the top of this page…if the artist took the time to carefully craft their work, then the least I can do is to read it.

This is the Only poem where each word resonated with me! And am better for reading it. It will be saved so I can visit it whenever I want.
