Hidradenitis Supperativa

Kristina Torres 1986 (Florida)

Most people will never know
The extent of my disease
Because they only see the scars
After the cysts and lesions leave

They don’t know the pain I go through
Every single day
They will never understand
The agony in which I lay

Every movement is painful
But my face will never tell
As I lift my right arm
I feel like I’m in hell

The stinging sensations
Are the easiest of them all
It’s when the cyst begins to swell
And the burning comes to ball

There’s never an easy relief
And the pain is constantly there
I find myself crying
Simply picking up my hair

Often times, I have my days
Where I want to give up
But then I remember who I am
And poor some wine into my cup

The disease isn’t for the weak
The strength comes from within
But hidradenitis supperativa
Will never have a chance to win

About this poem

This is for every day that my sister and me have shed tears to this disease. This is also for any person out there who knows our pain. Hear me, you are not alone fellow warrior.

I hope you don't mind me posting this article and video. She recommends some good supplements that could help. -

This is very moving and sad, Kristina. I assume there is no cure or treatment? Is there a dietary regiment that could help? Supplementation? The poem was very well written. I couldn't help but feel your emotion having to deal with this. I am sorry you're stricken in such a way.

Hi! Thank you for your kind words :) to answer your questions:

      1. There is no cure and the only treatments are antibiotics and pain killers. After so many, I’ve become resistant to most of them. In addition, it’s a lot of medication in the body and I personally prefer natural remedies.

      2. Yes, basically the cleaner your food, the cleaner your body will be. Although you eat clean, there’s no guarantee food alone will help though. There are triggers for everyone so not consuming your trigger food helps a lot.

Please be careful with antibiotics. We are not supposed to take them but for one short period of time throughout our lives. They completely destroy gut flora, biome and immunity. Try some juicing. I've been juicing off and on for years and it really helps. I hate to think anyone suffers like this. It pains me. Best wishes...
