Poetry rehearsed

Doug Blair 1951 (London)

Has it been a
Gobbling up of needful
Time?
Others playing ball
Outside.
While I must climb
To some height of revelation
Given me.
How to find the words
To make first-baseman see.
And words are short, truncated.
Sometimes odd.
But it’s all been laid out
Engineered by God.
So some Newsboy
Is the best
That I can be.
It’s about the best
Beauty, nature, Heaven.
Not me.
