I am not gone

I once feared the fiery flames,
Now I see the beauty in its release.
To become one with the earth,
Will bring me a final peace.

To be carried on the winds,
As light as butterflies;
To be a part of every sunset,
And of every new sunrise.

In a ghostly cloud of fragments,
Of me now is what remains,
To be enveloped in each nights darkness,
Or washed away with summer rains.

What is dead now gives life again,
I am the new flowers that bloom.
I am on the warm spring wind,
That you'll smell their sweet perfume.

I'm a cloud floating high above,
On a clear blue sunny day,
I'm in the sunshine that warms your shoulders,
Like a hug to fill your day.

I'm in the soil under your feet,
Or a bird flying above,
Just remember the life you gave me,
When you filled it with your love.

It's in this beauty that I am free,
And I'm one with you forever,
Remember I am not gone,
Again one day we'll be together.
