The Furthest Thing

Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)

After all the words that you have said
And all of the things that you have done
You have pushed my heart so far away
That all of my angels have flown
So whilst I sit here in the dark
Complaining that the light has gone
Tears gather in my soul's pure eyes
Where joy should always have been known
But my guide whispers in my ear
That we are not alone
And we should try accepting
One another's every tone
For we are blessed by the heavens
Every bit of skin and bone
So we will spend eternity
Together growing old
So my darling I forgive you
And forget all that has passed
To follow love forever
As the lord has surely tasked.
