Because I choose to

I love you.
I don't say this because I need to, or because I think you need to hear it.
I don't say it to remind you or myself.
I don't say it because I think it might brighten your day, although I hope it does.
I don't say it to goad you into saying it back, although I absolutely love that you do and always will.
I don't say it because I'm trying to trap you into being with me.
I say it because I want to.
I say it because I choose to.
I say it because in reality I am at a loss of words to fully explain how I feel about you.
I say it to let you know, that out of all the billions of people who roam the earth, I chose you, and I will choose you every day.
I say it to let you know that I want to build and grow with you.
I say it to let you know, that no matter what you have been through, as long as you are working on us I will too.
I say it to let you know that I will keep working on being a better me than I was yesterday, for myself. Because that's what will make a better us in the long run.
I say it to let you know that you make me happy and proud to have you in my life.

I say it because I do love you, with every ounce of love I can. Unconditionally, without any regrets.

I love you
