Remembrance Due: A Sonnet of Gratitude
Commemorate ye not the souls who did behold
Thy being, when thou wert obscure to all
For in the shadows, they did stories told
Of one who stood tall, though small
With steadfast gaze and hearts of gold
They saw potential, where others did see nought
And in thy darkest hour, they did uphold
Thy spirit, and to the world, thy worth they taught
So let thy gratitude, in verse be rolled
For those who did thy worth recognize
In memory, their deeds, forever enfold
And in thy heart, forever, let their praise rise
For they did see thee, in thy invisibility
And for that, thou shalt forever be in their debt, truly.
