Pain is My Dress,Melancholy Thought

Kashif Ali Abbas 1980 (lahore)

Pain is my dress, melancholy thought
In vain is my guess, uncommonly sought

I dwell in doleful heavy-hearted days
I excel in mournful high tortured rays
I sell in wistful hatred new ways
A hell in pitiful downward slays

Unaware of family's love, I am
Pair of eternal clove, I am
Dare of misery's curve, I am
Hare of yearning above, I am

Melodious songs become agony
Mellifluous talks become tyranny
Hideous joys become felony
Serious attacks become so many

Love is nothing
Death is winning
Joy is cunning
Life is ending

Pain is my dress, melancholy thought
In vain is my guess, uncommonly sought
