Unthrown Rocks

Bruised is a stoned body,

felt is each thrown rock.

A broken soul turns to stone,

though you refuse to throw them back.

Pleading becomes your heart,

a forgiving promise to yield.

Protecting yourself from the abuse,

battled has become your shield.

Just wanting to be heard,

please validate me and what’s inside.

Your pursuit behind an agenda,

step forth out, from behind.

Through recognizing my worth, my love,

defined more than your credit given.

I’ll allow all this to pass from me,

you are family, and already forgiven.

No sense throwing, a retaliating rock,

forgiveness shows a love that’s greater.

So, release your weighted burden,

not saving your rocks, for later.
