Promises

I want to hold your hands on your way
I wish I could just delay
The pain as I walkaway
I just want to say
I need you to stay
I remember how we used to play
How you held me when I went astray
I have a debt I can never repay
I wish our time together could replay
I know you have to leave anyway
As I can do nothing but pray
No matter what lies in your pathway
I promise you this today
That I will never leave you midway
I will hold your hands all the way
And even when you're faraway
I'll be waiting for you every day
